The Chattanooga Publishing Company has been successful hosting a vast array of events and ceremonies that have targeted everything from seniors to women to teenagers to the best high school athletes in the Tri-State area.

Now the company is looking to appeal to the men of the area. The Times Free Press and Dr Pepper will present Man Xpo on Saturday, June 28, at the First Tennessee Pavilion and Finley Stadium.

"The community has been telling us for years that they wanted us to produce a men's event," CPC president Jason Taylor said. "Now is the right time, and we hope men attend the event with their friends, sons, brothers and fathers. It will be a great day to have fun and make memories."

Man Xpo, which falls a couple of weeks after Father's Day, will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will continue the Times Free Press tradition of bringing some of the biggest names in all avenues of society to town. ESPN college football expert Kirk Herbstreit, the former Ohio State quarterback and the star of the vastly popular "College GameDay," will be the featured guest.

Herbstreit will be part of a moderated question-and-answer session with two members of the Times Free Press sports staff and then will be available for photos with fans on a recreated ESPN "GameDay" set.

"We're very excited to bring Kirk Herbstreit to Man Xpo," CPC marketing manager Lyndsi Lane said. "We know there's a lot of die-hard college football fans in our area who watch him on 'College GameDay' every Saturday during football season, regardless of what team they pull for.

"I'm sure he has some great insider knowledge to share about SEC coaches, players, stadiums and fan bases. We're going to re-create the 'College GameDay' set so fans can get their picture made with Kirk and it will look like they're a part of the panel on the show."

In addition to Herbstreit, the events and activities appeal to almost every area of interest.

With the support of more than 100 area businesses, there will be a catfish pond, NASCAR and golf simulators, woodcarving, video games, Titans cheerleaders and competitive eating with local firefighters and police officers.

There also will be climbing walls, archery, a man cave and do-it-yourself exhibits.
