No one was able to catch wire-to-wire leader Loren Personett as he closed out a four-stroke victory Wednesday at the 47th annual Tennessee PGA Professional Championship in Franklin. But Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain head pro Kelvin Burgin and Honors Course assistant Josh Webb held on for important top-five finishes that qualify them for the 2016 Professional National Championship at Turning Stone Resort in Vernoa, N.Y. The top 20 finishers there qualify for next year's PGA Championship. Personett, from Mount Juliet, shot a 2-under-par 70 in Wednesday's final round at Vanderbilt Legends Club's North Course, putting him at 12-under 204 for the 54-hole tournament. With his win, he earned a spot in next year's FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind in Memphis. Walt Chapman of Knoxville and Burgin tied for second at 208 after Burgin closed with a 72 and Chapman had a 69. Webb was three shots out of second after closing with a 72. Council Fire head pro Richard Rebne tied Knoxville's Scott Moran for sixth at 214 - they were two strokes out of fifth - after Rebne closed with a 70. They will be alternates for the Professional National Championship, along with eighth-place Jake Reeves of Knoxville (215). Honors director of golf Henrik Simonsen finished 15th after a third-round 73 that put him at 218 for the tournament.
