The 10-member second class of the East Ridge High School Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted at halftime of the Pioneers' football game Friday against Hixson. The inductees are former school principal and TSSAA Legislative Council member Ed Foster, Memphis University track sprint standout Lynn Fox, all-state basketball and volleyball player Cheryl Gannon, state champion wrestler and wrestling coach Lynn Goss, cross country and track state champion Becky Herd, pole vaulter and all-state football running back Mike Odom, three-sport East Ridge coach Mike Olinger, multisport Pioneers athlete and three-sport city coach of the year Jimmy Starling, All-SEC and national champion Alabama linebacker Chuck Strickland and basketball and volleyball star Leslie Williamson. Williamson was all-state and the TSSAA's top scorer in basketball with 33 points a game as a senior in 1968. Strickland was an East Ridge standout in wrestling and track and field as well as football, Goss played football and baseball in addition to wrestling and also coached cross country and track, and Starling was all-city in baseball and earned honorable mention in football. Odom played football in college and later played on the PGA, Canadian and Asian golf tours and became a high school golf coach.

Golf

* Former Girls Preparatory School, Signal Mountain and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga golf standout Jordan Britt is five strokes behind leader Vicky Hurst but in second place and playing in the final group today in the Symetra Tour's Garden City Charity Classic at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Club in Kansas. Britt is at 141 after a second-round 69. She was the Southern Conference women's golfer of the year in 2014.

Soccer

* The first-year Dalton State men's soccer team erupted in the second half of its first match in 11 days and won 5-1 Saturday at Brescia. Tomide Adabale scored twice and Ibrahim Sossoka, Tony Baza and Andres Pena also had goals for the Roadrunners (5-1-1).

* Jake Molony and David Perez scored two goals apiece in the first 13 minutes of the second half as Lee (4-2) broke loose for a 7-0 men's soccer win over Oakland City. Quade Marinell scored in the first minute of the game on the rebound of a Drew Jackson shot off the post, but the score was still 1-0 until the second-half eruption that also included scores by Travis Kiger and Matt Brady from Arturo Rocha and Austin Waddell assists. Jose Orelanna and Jonathan Finlay assisted on Molony's goals.

* The Sewanee women's soccer team won 5-1 Saturday at Agnes Scott with Tasha Saunders, Baker Walls and Tyler Edell scoring in the first half and Nikki Johnston scoring twice in the second, assisted by Shelby Meckstroth and Martha Dinwiddie. Erin Gill assisted on Saunders' opening goal at 19:50 for the Tigers (1-3-1), who had a 30-17 advantage in shots.

* Meredith scored two second-half goals, including the winner at 89:02 by Cassie Padilla off a Megan Luke free kick, in shading Covenant 2-1 in USA South women's soccer Saturday. Natalie Smith headed in a Ruth Terry corner kick at 31:06 for Covenant (3-2, 1-1), which was outshot 17-5 but got nine saves from Rachel Lemay.

* Nico Roth scored in the 14th minute and helped assist on two second-half goals as Millsaps beat visiting Covenant 3-0 in NCAA Division III soccer Saturday. Alex Bourland had a goal and an assist for the Majors (5-1); the Scots are 1-5.

* The Bryan College women's soccer team won 3-0 at Montreat in an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday, but the men tied 2-2 through two overtime. The Lady Lions are 3-3, 1-0; the Lions are 3-3-1, 0-0-1. The Tennessee Wesleyan women (2-4-1, 1-1) lost 3-1 at Columbia (6-1, 1-0). The TWC men (3-3-1) lost 3-2 at Cumberlands in a nonconference game.

Running

* Dalton State College runners Spencer Head and Emily Poole were the individual winners in the North Georgia Invitational cross country meet Saturday in Oakwood, Ga. Head's 25:26 time broke his 8-kilometer course record by 28 seconds as he led the Roadrunners to first place in the 16-team field. Teammate Paul Patterson was third overall and second as a member of a participating team in 26:25.3, and Paul Schupp and Brody Cook were sixth and 10th. The DSC women were fourth out of 20 teams with Poole first and Natalie Hensley 11th individually in the 6k. Poole edged Nancy Murgor of Young Harris, 22:41.3 to 22:41.7. Covenant was 11th in the women's race, 13th in the men's.

Football

* UTC offensive coordinator Jeff Durden will be the guest speaker for the Chattanooga Quarterback Club's noon luncheon meeting Monday at Finley Stadium, and the public is invited. Attendance costs $10 with a meal, $4 without.
