Kienle wins 2016 Ironman Chattanooga 70.3

German pro triathlete Sebastian Kienle pulled away from Sam Appleton on the run to win the 2016 Ironman Chattanooga 70.3 on Sunday morning.

Kienle finished the 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run in three hours, 46 minutes and 48 seconds, more than two minutes ahead of Appleton at 3:48:46. Ivan Tutukin finished third at 3:53:05.

In the women's pro competition, Heather Jackson used a dominant bike leg to build a massive lead to win with a time of 4:11:56, well ahead of second-place finisher Magali Tisseyre at 4:18:33.
