Outdoors Note

» High point for High Point: The High Point Chattanooga climbing team recently had its "best regional ever," according to coach Wills Young, at the Youth Regional Championships in bouldering at Charlotte, N.C. High Point's Hugo Hoyer took first place in the Male Youth D category, and Sierra Saylors in Female Youth A and Olivia Judd in Female Youth B were runners-up. The local team also had four third-place finishes, from Grace Noonan in Female Junior, Adeline Chinery in Female Youth A, Garrison Corley in Male Youth C and Henry Carter in Male Youth D.

"We had 18 climbers progress to the divisional championship in January, which is just over half our group," Young noted, "so we're very pleased with the team's results. More than anything it was a great experience for many of them who competed in a championship event for the first time."
