Walker Valley in Class AAA, Brainerd in AA and Sale Creek in Class A lost TSSAA boys' basketball sectionals in the midstate Tuesday night.
After two area high school boys' basketball teams earned spots in the state tournament with wins Monday night, four others hope tonight to join them in Murfreesboro. TSSAA Class AAA state wrestling results
The Hixson Wildcats ran away with the state's first Region 2-A/AA wrestling championship, scoring 200 points and qualifying 12 for the traditional state tournament this week, after barely leading a close team race going into Saturday.
It wasn't as easy as the last time for Tyner, but it didn't have to be. All the Rams needed to do was defeat Brainerd on Saturday to win the District 6-AA boys' high school basketball regular-season title, and they did so, 74-63 at Brainerd.
