CLEVELAND, Tenn. — It's still great football weather, but a snowball may be building at Bradley Central after the Bears lost 28-8 to McMinn County on Friday night.

Storyline: The teams have three common opponents — each beat Pope John Paul II and McCallie and lost to Montgomery Bell Academy.

Boyd-Buchanan quarterback Jim Cardwell has added another talent to his repertoire. In addition to punting, passing, kicking, running and tackling, the Buccaneers senior can now be called snake-handler.

East Hamilton coach Ted Gatewood wanted his team to work on its running game in Friday night’s District 5-AAA high school football game against McMinn County. And thanks to the Hurricanes’ passing game, the coach got his opportunity.
