With one round of playoffs to go before Georgia's high school softball elite convene in Columbus to decide championships in seven classifications, the usual candidates are representing northwest Georgia.

How many more years are non-scholarship private schools that are in Tennessee's Division I with public schools going to stay, or be allowed to stay?

TUNNEL HILL, Ga. — BriLeigh Baggett pitched two strong games Wednesday to lead Northwest Whitfield to a Class AAAA sweep of a first-round softball playoff series of LaGrange, 1-0 and 5-2.

Boyd-Buchanan quarterback Jim Cardwell has added another talent to his repertoire. In addition to punting, passing, kicking, running and tackling, the Buccaneers senior can now be called snake-handler.
