Wednesday's prep sports stars

Ericka Bynum, Ringgold: One of her two hits was a grand slam and she had six RBIs when the Lady Tigers cruised past Murray County 9-1 in a six-inning Region 7-AAA softball game.

Tucker Snipes, McCallie: His individual win from the No. 4 position and his team victory with No. 3-player Charlie Wood were the only points for the Blue Tornado that weren't decided with two or less holes to play and McCallie beat Baylor 7.5-4.5 in match-play golf.

Rachel Travis, Baylor: Her 18 kills paced the hitting for the Lady Red Raiders in their 3-0 volleyball victory over Ooltewah.

Sara Griffith, GPS: She led the Bruisers with 22 digs, tied for the team lead with 13 kills, and contributed two aces and two blocks when GPS defeated Red Bank 3-1 in volleyball.

Allie Jennings, Signal Mountain: She topped the Lady Eagles with 13 digs and four aces and helped them beat East Ridge 3-0 in volleyball.

Brenna Nation, Gordon Lee: After allowing a first-inning run, she threw six shutout innings and ended up with a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and the Lady Trojans defeated Bowdon 3-1 in the Region 6-A softball winners-bracket final.

Rachel Shaughnessy, Soddy-Daisy: Sparked by her 21 kills, the Lady Trojans defeated Walker Valley 3-1 in volleyball and secured the regular-season championship in District 5-AAA. She also added 10 digs and three blocks.
