TRENTON, Ga. - Playing their first home game since November, the Dade County Lady Wolverines put on a show for the home fans Tuesday. With junior guard Erika Woodfin erupting for nine 3-pointers and 30 points, Dade routed Region 7B-AA rival Chattooga 67-29 and improved to 12-0, 4-0 in league play.

The Lady Wolverines rushed out to a 26-7 first-period lead behind a combined 22 points from the sharpshooting Woodfin and junior post Ansley Chilton. Woodfin hit four of her 3-pointers in the opening period, and when she wasn't scoring the 6-foot-2 Chilton was dominating inside.

Add a full-court press that caused 10 turnovers and it was a recipe for a rout.

"We're playing really hard, but I think we can execute better," Dade coach Randy Watson said. "I had seen Chattooga and I thought they only had one primary ball-handler, so I believed our press could be effective. Our press has been the M.O. around here for how many years now?

"Erika was hot, and when somebody's shooting that well we're going to get them the ball. This bunch has been playing well. The junior class has been playing together for a while, and now they're starting to grow up a bit."

The Lady Indians (7-2, 2-2) cut the Dade lead to 13 points on an Alexus Allgood three-point play to open the second half, but Woodfin quickly ended any thoughts of a comeback with four consecutive 3-pointers. When she actually missed one early in the final period, a derisive cheer arose from the rattled Chattooga fans.

"I can't put it in words, but it's the best feeling," Woodfin said of her career-best night. "My teammates helped me get open, and the shots were just falling. It's all about teamwork. I wouldn't have been open if not for them."

Chilton added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Lady Wolverines, who host defending region champion Calhoun on Friday.
