High school standouts of March 12

Duncan Coffey, Polk County: He threw a perfect game, striking out 13 batters, as the Wildcats rolled to a 10-0 baseball win over visiting Tellico Plains in five innings.

Raunel Perez, Red Bank: He struck out 13 and allowed just two hits as the Lions edged East Ridge 2-0.

Patrick Parris, East Hamilton: He threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts while giving up no earned runs in the Hurricanes' 7-4 victory over Central.

Hayden Bailey, Soddy-Daisy: He threw a one-hitter, striking out eight and walking none, in the Trojans' 1-0 District 5-AAA victory over Bradley Central.

Brody Binder, Ooltewah: He went 3-for-4 with four RBIs as the Owls defeated McMinn County 11-2.

Sheldon Brogdon, Notre Dame: He had two home runs and three RBIs in two official plate appearances as the Irish pulled out a 3-2 win over Arts & Sciences.

Alan Mocahbee, Ringgold: He accounted for both of the Tigers' runs via solo homers in a 2-1 victory over Region 7-AAA and Catoosa County rival Heritage.

Eric Hart, McMinn Central: He had a 2-for-4 night with two RBIs in the Chargers' 4-3 win over Greenback.

Tyler Higdon, Lookout Valley: He had four RBIs as the Yellow Jackets shut down Van Buren County 11-3.

Blaine Long, Hixson: He threw a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts in the the Wildcats' 10-0, five-inning victory over Brainerd.

Lance Carter, Chattanooga Christian: He went 2-for-2 in the Chargers' 5-4 victory over Boyd-Buchanan.

Cody Clanton, Walker Valley: He was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the Mustangs 10-0, five-inning win over Rhea County.

Hunter Brown, Grundy County: He went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored as the Yellow Jackets tied Moore County 2-2 in a game called after eight innings because of darkness.

Austin Pedigo, Marion County: He pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts in the Warriors' 7-3 District 6-A win at Sale Creek.

Alexa Hickman, Boyd-Buchanan: She was the winning pitcher went 2-for-4 in the Lady Bucs' 6-1 softball victory over Red Bank.

Taylor Harris, East Hamilton: She went 2-for-2 with a home run and a double for four RBIs in the Lady Hurricanes' 15-0 win over Sale Creek.

Morgan Hidalgo, Rhea County: She had three hits in three at-bats, scoring one run and knocking in another in her team's 4-1 victory over Polk County.

Carmen Wooden, South Pittsburg: She struck out five and added an inside-the-park home run as the Lady Pirates slipped past Tyner 4-3.

Madi Stanley, GPS: She picked up the win in relief and had two RBIs as GPS battled through seven scoreless innings before breaking open for an 8-0 victory over Arts & Sciences.
