Madewell reached the Class AAA state tournament as a junior but could not repeat the feat as a senior.
"He's been the most consistent player and the motor of our team," Rhea County coach Nathan Talley said. "He's our most talented kid and he plays well under pressure. I think Lindsey Wilson is getting a steal."
