Ringgold loses in state baseball championship

RINGGOLD, Ga. - Top-ranked Columbus High School swept Ringgold 6-3 and 11-1 today for the Georgia Class AAA state baseball championship.

Columbus, featuring players who helped win the Little League World Series in 2006, jumped quickly to a 5-0 lead in the first game. Ringgold scored first in the second game, but it was all Columbus after that, leaving the champion Blue Devils with a 33-4 record and the runner-up Tigers at 29-9.
