Columbia did play one Chattanooga-area team, suffering its second loss of the year in a 24-7 home setback against Baylor. The Lions' other loss was 28-0 to Dickson County. ... There are no common opponents. ... Columbia is on a four-game win streak while Ooltewah has won seven straight and had an open date in Week 9. ... Ooltewah has a 14-9 postseason record including 1-1 last year. ... The Owls have successfully negotiated the quarterfinals three times and then lost the following week.

Giles County entered the postseason as the state's top-ranked team. ... The Bobcats whipped District 7-AA runner-up Notre Dame 47-7, capitalizing early on Irish miscues -- an interception, a fumble and one of two blocked punts -- while East Hamilton was handling Page 25-14. ... Marion surprised many in the state by knocking off traditional playoff power Trousdale County 48-21 with mostly a knee-knocking running attack. Friendship, though, was the state's second-ranked team according to the TSSAA's Week 10 computer rankings. ... Friendship shut out Trousdale 31-0 in the regular season.
