Chattanooga area high school standouts for April 8

• Dakota Hudson, Sequatchie County: He struck out 16 and scattered four hits in seven innings as the Indians nipped Chattanooga Christian 2-1 in baseball.

• Zach Thompson, Ooltewah: He struck out 13 and walked two, scattering four hits and improving to 4-1 in the Owls' 2-1 victory over Cleveland.

• Kamren Barnes, Walker Valley: He improved to 4-1 and led the Mustangs' 4-0 win over Bradley Central with eight strikeouts.

• Hunter Parker, East Hamilton: He went 4-for-4 with an RBI and three stolen bases as the Hurricanes slipped past Tyner 6-5 and improved to 9-0 in 6-AA.

• Alex Armstrong, Baylor: He went 3-for-4 with two RBIs in the Red Raiders' 7-0 victory over Polk County.

• Bryson Baker, Meigs County: He went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in the Tigers' 9-1 win over Sweetwater.

• Austyn Cooper, Grundy County: He went 2-for-2 with an RBI in the Yellow Jackets' 4-2 win at Bledsoe County.

• Leona Drodrick, Arts & Sciences: She threw a perfect game, striking out 13 of the 15 batters she faced in a 17-0 softball victory over Chattanooga Christian.

• Elise Pearson, Silverdale: She pitched the first three innings of a 7-5 win over Red Bank and homered twice in a 3-for-3 performance that included six RBIs.

• Abbie Sewell, Boyd-Buchanan: She homered and pitched a two-hitter for six innings, striking out 11 in the Lady Bucs' 9-6 win over Copper Basin.

• Cassidy Hackney, Soddy-Daisy: She went 2-for-4 in the Lady Trojans' 3-0 victory over Rhea County.
