Marion County High School is setting aside its county rivalry for a day to support South Pittsburg. MCHS administrators have chartered a bus for its entire football team, players and coaches, as well as some school officials to travel to Cookeville today to watch South Pittsburg in the 1A state title game.

"We just thought it would be good to go support them," Marion interim coach Larry Richard said. "We're taking a day out of school and loading up to go pull for them. There's also quite a few of our students who are driving up on their own."

Two weeks ago, South Pittsburg players and a couple hundred Pirates fans lined the streets in Kimball to see the Marion team off on its way to play Trousdale County in the quarterfinals, and Richard said the Warriors wanted to show their support in turn.
