All-state girls' soccer, volleyball teams announced

Nineteen TSSAA volleyball players and 11 girls' soccer players from the Chattanooga area have been selected all-state by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association. Heading the volleyball group is state-champion Baylor with Haven Bethune, Gabby Gray and Lilly Turner on the Division II team.

Ooltewah had Courtlyn Ison and Hanna Matthews as selections and fellow Class AAA program Soddy-Daisy had Chloe Mitchell and Hannah Robertson as choices. Class AA state-runnerup Signal Mountain landed Taelor Kellum and Aryn Sanders on the team. Katie DeLay and Kristen Reynolds were chosen from Class A Boyd-Buchanan.

GPS's Reagan Williams was the only other selection in Division II. Others picked in Class AAA were East Hamilton's Emma Lenoir and Walker Valley's Madison Pruett. Class AA's other selections were Central's Rebekah Hill, Hixson's Paige Lawson, Notre Dame's Kaylee Stone and Red Bank's Allison Walker. In Class A rounding out the selections was Grace Academy's Alexandra Smith and Lookout Valley's Savannah Walker.

Leading the local soccer group is state-champion GPS, which had Akia Harris, Lindsey Rufolo, Keyle Snyder and Savannah Williams chosen in Division II. Class A/AA Notre Dame's picks were Taylor Green, Molly Kadafer and Sofie Olencheck.

The local Class AAA selections are Mallorie Menely from Ooltewah and Callista Pascarella from McMinn County. The other choices in Class A/AA are Chattanooga Christian's Hannah Henry and Silverdale Baptist Academy's Sidney Smith.
