Twelve area basketball players TSWA all-state

Twelve area players are included among the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's all-state basketball teams, including two each from the Brainerd, Central and McCallie state-tournament teams.

In boys' Class AA, Central's Tre Tiller and Ryan Montgomery are joined by Brainerd's Kentrell Evans and Da'V Moore. Tiller averaged 16 points, seven rebounds and five blocks per game, and Montgomery averaged a team-leading 18 points and nine rebounds. Evans ran the show for the Panthers at the point, averaging 12 points and eight assists per game, and Moore averaged a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds to go along with four steals per game.

The Division II-AA all-state team includes McCallie's Adrian Thomas and Junior Clay, who each averaged around 12 points and seven rebounds per game. Eric Baynard represents St. Andrew's-Sewanee on the Division II-A team.

In girls' Division II-AA, Baylor's Miss Basketball award winner Kaleigh Clemons is joined by GPS's Akia Harris, who averaged 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 4.3 steals per game.

Signal Mountain's Aryn Sanders, who averaged 22 points, six rebounds and 3.6 steals per game, is joined on the Class AA list of honorees by McMinn Central's Jacobi Lynn, who helped the Chargerettes reach the state tournament with a team-leading 18 points per game.

Van Buren County's Lakelyn Bouldin, a Miss Basketball finalist who averaged 23 points, 9.4 rebounds, three assists and 2.7 steals per game, is the only area girl on the Class A team.
