The only question that remains for Boyd-Buchanan senior Jack Keebler now is whether he'll play offense or defense in college football. The question of where his future lies was answered Friday afternoon when he committed to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

A 6-foot-2, 225-pound tight end and defensive end for the Buccaneers, Keebler is versatile enough to play either side of the ball. He likely will have Mocs coaches debating where he will play.

"He's a very coachable kid and is one of the hardest workers we've got," said Bucs coach Grant Reynolds. "Defensively he's tough to block. Most teams have to double-team him. Offensively we flex him out because he has good speed and creates matchup problems for people trying to cover him."

He had 680 receiving yards last season and scored five touchdowns and made 40 tackles with two sacks.

Keebler was one of more than 300 players at UTC's summer camp last weekend and becomes the Mocs' second commitment for the 2016 signing class, joining Farragut two-way lineman Cole Strange (6-5, 255). He chose UTC over offers from Davidson and East Tennessee State.

"It's a great football program they're building and I wanted to be a part of it," Keebler said. "Plus it's close to home. I decided to go ahead and announce it so I could focus on our season.

"I loved it last weekend and just felt that's where I should go. It just felt like the right place for me."
