Hixson, Baylor, Cleveland leading state wrestling tournament

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- At the state wrestling tournament in Franklin, Tenn., Hixson is leading A/AA with 63 points and Alcoa is in second place with 58.

Six of the top 10 teams are from the Chattanooga area. East Ridge and Notre Dame are tied for third with 47.5 points, Red Bank is in sixth, Central seventh and Signal Mountain ninth. Those are the team points after the quarterfinals.

Cleveland leads the AAA field by 1.5 points over Bradley Central and the two have actually created some space between them and third place Wilson Central. The Blue Raiders have 106.5, the Bears 105 and Wilson Central 84.5. Soddy-Daisy is in 4th place with 74.5.

In Division II, Baylor, with 74.5 points, is 3.5 better than Father Ryan and McCallie is third with 65 in the Division II tournament.
