Signal Mountain senior Chris Moore has committed to play football for Tennessee Tech.

The Eagles linebacker was second among Chattanooga-area defenders with 124 tackles and also had 16.5 tackles for loss this past season.

"He's a kid with a great motor. He played hard all the time," Signal coach Bill Price said of the three-year starter.

Price noted that Moore never missed a practice in four years and said his best days as a player are ahead of him.

"He's 6-foot-3 and 255 pounds and he's going to get a lot bigger," the coach said. "He's grown three inches in the last couple of years. He's a great student, a high-character kid that comes from a good family and the kind of kid that did what it took to make himself into a college prospect."

During his time at Signal Mountain, Moore played linebacker, defensive end, defensive tackle and tight end.

"I think Tech will probably move him to defensive end or defensive tackle," Price said, "and he will be a very athletic defensive lineman for them."
