Joe Adams inducted in TBCA Hall of Fame

Veteran Bradley Central coach Joe Adams was inducted into the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame last weekend.

Adams coached at Bradley for 18 years, winning 387 games, nine district championship and four region championships. He had four state-tournament teams and they finished runner-up twice and third twice.

His head coaching record was 474-136, which computes to a .777 winning percentage.

The son of legendary McMinn County coach Ace Adams, Joe played at McMinn County and Tennessee Tech. He coached at McMinn County for two years and at Cookeville for two more seasons before joining Bradley. At Cookeville, his teams had a 43-9 record with a state-runner-up finish in 1974.

Joe's son, Travis, is currently Bradley's head baseball coach. Daughter Jody was a standout basketball guard at Tennessee and now is the women's basketball coach at Kent State.
