CROSS PLAINS -- The East Robertson High School football team's first practice in pads was canceled Monday morning because the players were showing a lack of commitment, first-year head coach Chad Broadrick said.

"We canceled practice this morning and I told the team that we're not going to take the field until they can show me they are ready to work," Broadrick said. "Right now, I'm looking for someone, anyone, to step up and lead this team and that's not happening right now."

Broadrick said the players will have to raise their "level of commitment" before they take the field.
