Baylor's Gene Etter announces this is final season

Dean of Chattanooga baseball coaches to step down

Gene Etter, the dean of Chattanooga area baseball coaches, is set to tell his Baylor School team that this will be his final season.

Etter has coached Red Raiders baseball teams to more than 800 wins, two state championships and two more state finals.

A 10-sport letterman during his time at Central High including football under his legendary father, E.B. "Red" Etter Etter played football and baseball at the University of Tennessee. He also played professional baseball.
