Dalton soccer team takes third consecutive state championship, defeats Allatoona 4-0

MACON, Ga. - The Dalton soccer team claimed their third consecutive Class 5A state championship Friday, defeating Allatoona 4-0 at Five Star Stadium on the Mercer University campus.
Kobe Perez finished with a pair of goals, while Churrui Huitanda and Jose Espino had the others. Perez's goal on a free kick in the 12th minute gave the Catamounts (20-0) a 1-0 edge, and they led 2-0 at the half.
The Catamounts, who finished their season as the top-ranked team in both the Maxpreps poll as well as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, outscored their opponents 101-11 during the 2015 season.
