CBS MaxPreps has announced its Underclass All-America softball teams, and Ooltewah's Kayla Boseman was chosen as an outfielder on the sophomore team.

Boseman was a Times Free Press Best of Preps first-team selection this spring after batting .589 with an area-leading 21 home runs and 89 RBIs. She also pitched for the Lady Owls and registered a 19-4 record with a 2.04 ERA.

She has committed to Mississippi State.

"Obviously she's a very valuable member of our team," Ooltewah coach Jon Massey said. "She does everything we ask her to do. We're proud of her. I know she works hard. We're glad she's with us."
