Two Baylor School sophomores have committed already to play softball for NCAA Division I programs.

One of them, third baseman Cheyenne Lindsey, has accepted an offer to play for two-time defending national champion Florida. Catcher Kamrie Rich committed to Lipscomb.

Meanwhile, Baylor 2015 soccer player Chloe Maize enrolled recently at Alabama and was welcomed quickly to the Southeastern Conference program.

"We are thrilled to have Chloe as part of our 2016 recruiting class," Alabama coach Wes Hart said in a school website posting. "Her ability to create and score goals makes her a special talent.

"Chloe's decision to enroll midyear is huge for us. It allow us to start integrating her into the team, while (she is) also adjusting to the physical and mental demands of a college student-athlete. I believe Chloe has a bright future ahead of her. We expect big things from her the next four years."

Maize was all-region for three years and the multistate region MVP in 2014 for the Atlanta-based Tophat Soccer Club. She played for Baylor only last season, when she was all-state and helped the Lady Red Raiders reach the state final. Tophat won four consecutive state titles and three region championships with her on the team, and she was invited to U.S. Soccer national training.

Lindsey and Rich earned special notice as freshmen in Baylor's state-championship 2015 softball season. Lindsey batted .564 with an on-base percentage of .643, 35 runs scored, 24 RBIs and 21 steals. She stole four bases in one game, tying a TSSAA tournament record set before she was born.

"You don't just get called up by Florida every day," Lady Raiders coach Kelli Smith said. "It's an incredible opportunity to be part of a fantastic program that's had the success that they've had."

Rich, who started catching for Baylor as an eighth-grader, also was called by SEC and other Power 5 conference schools before picking Lipscomb in Nashville.

"Kamrie is a phenomenal catcher, very versatile behind the plate," Smith said. "She works really well with pitchers and has a good head on her shoulders. She also brings power to the lineup."

Rich plays travel ball for the Tennessee Fury Platinum, which finished fourth in the ASA nationals.
