McCallie School finished second in the Division II boys' state bowling tournament Saturday at Smyrna, having defeated Montgomery Bell Academy 17-10 and Christian Brothers 15.5-11.5 before falling in the final to St. Benedict, 16-11.
St. Benedict also knocked out GPS, 20-7 in a girls' semifinal.
Rhea County lost by only 10 pins, 15-12, in a Division I girls' semifinal against Bartlett.
Hardin County's girls and Columbia Central's boys won the Division I titles in the competition delayed a week by weather. Columbia beat Smyrna 19-8 in a final matching the teams that won sectionals against Chattanooga-area teams.
