McCallie baseball coach Greg Payne has resigned after four seasons.

Payne cited personal reasons for his decision and specifically mentioned his son and McCallie alumnus Tyler playing baseball at Lee University.

"We have a special relationship and that may not last forever. He's playing a few miles up the road and I can't go watch him play after watching him all of his life," he said.

Payne averaged almost 26 wins per season and his 2014 team won the DII-AA state championship.
