Miss Basketball winners announced

One year after becoming Baylor's first TSSAA Miss Basketball Award winner, Kaleigh Clemons has repeated.

Clemons, a Vanderbilt signee who led the Lady Red Raiders to the Division II-AA state championship game last week, averaged 12 points, 7 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game this season.

The TSSAA announced its Mr. and Miss Basketball Awards winners for all classifications during a ceremony Tuesday night at Middle Tennessee State University's Murphy Center, also the site of the girls' and boys' state tournaments.

The Chattanooga area did not have a Mr. Basketball finalist.

Van Buren County senior Lakelyn Bouldin was named Miss Basketball in Class A after the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga signee, who's also her school's valedictorian, averaged 21 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 3.4 steals this year. She has also guided her team to the state tournament for the first time in program history. McMinn Central junior guard Jacobi Lynn was one of three finalists for the award in Class AA but did not win. She also has helped her team advance to the state tournament.
