Two Christian Brothers goals four minutes apart spanning halftime ended the Baylor School soccer season Saturday in a Division II-AA state quarterfinal in Memphis.

The Purple Wave won 2-0 and advance to the state final four this week in Murfreesboro.

Nick Buchholz scored off a rebound in the 38th minute, and Kyle Snyder scored off a long throw-in in the 42nd minute. It was a game with minimal scoring chances, as the shots-on-goal tally was 4-3 in favor of the winners.

"It was not the way we wanted to end our run this year, but I am proud of our 13 seniors," said Baylor coach Curtis Blair, who specified Rob Moore and Sam Joyner as standouts in defeat.

"All season long we could never get the ball to bounce our way," Blair added, "and that is what is frustrating."
