Baylor falls at Pope John Paul II, 21-19

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. - Pope John Paul II stopped a Baylor 2-point conversion with 36 seconds remaining to seal a 21-19 upset victory Friday night.

Trailing 21-13 with three minutes to go in the Division II-AA game, Baylor (5-3, 2-3) produced a 69-yard scoring drive led by Bryce Verble, who threw to Jaylon Baker for the last 6 yards.

Kalvin Watson rushed 12 times for 136 yards for the visiting Red Raiders but had to leave early due to an injury. Brendon Harris added 91 yards and a touchdown on the ground to go along with six tackles on defense, and Tyree Toliver accounted for three of Baylor's six sacks of Knights quarterback Ben Brooks.
