Will Boyanton had a hat trick in Boyd-Buchanan's 4-0 District 5-A/AA soccer victory over Arts & Sciences on Tuesday. But he said his teammates deserved the credit.

The Buccaneers outshot the Patriots 25-1 and scored three goals in the second half to keep their undefeated district record intact.

"It was awesome," Boyanton said about scoring three goals. "Just to be out there with my brothers and have so much success was great. They all set me up well to get the job done, so it was just great to be out there and do it with my brothers."

Shots were fired early and often for the Bucs (10-3-1, 6-0), but they had trouble finding the back of the net despite 13 shots in the first half. Fisher Latham made a critical save for CSAS (3-9-1, 2-3-1) in the first 10 minutes, and two minutes later he punched out a header on target to keep the game scoreless.

Boyd-Buchanan would not be held out of goal much longer, though. Boyanton netted his first goal of the night after controlling the rebound when his penalty kick was deflected.

Berkay Dean found Boyanton in the box for his second goal at the 9:18 mark in the second half, and Asa Owens made it 3-nil two minutes later after getting his right foot on a ball from Hayes Wood.

Boyanton's header on a pass from Ross Wortman flew right past the keeper and gave him his third goal of the night.

"I am proud of the guys," Boyd-Buchanan coach Dustin Walker said. "I thought they started off the game really well and kind of set the tone for the game. They really worked hard in practice this week, and I thought they executed tonight on some things we wanted to try to at least give us some opportunities."

The Bucs shot well all night, having 14 of their 25 shots on target. As for the Patriots, Zachary Webber recorded their lone shot and Latham finished with seven saves.
