Baylor School and Baylor Swim Club swimmer Trey Freeman won the 18-under 200-meter freestyle competition Wednesday at the Phillips 66 National Championships/World Championship Trials in Indianapolis.

Freeman's time of 1 minute, 48.44 seconds placed him fourth in the B Final as well as first in the 18-under division, and it is the world's second-fastest 200 free time for a 17-year-old this year. He set a personal record with a 1:48.66 in the morning preliminaries and then beat that in the final.

Freeman's finish also put him on Team USA for the FINA World Junior Championships to be held Aug. 23-28 in Indianapolis, and he can add to his categories in the worlds as he swims in the 400 free on Friday and the 800 free on Saturday. He swam a 50.10 in the 100 free Tuesday and was in the C Final.
