For the first time in four seasons, Silverdale Baptist Academy will be at home for a sectional baseball game.

The Seahawks won over District 5 rival Boyd-Buchanan for the third time in four games this year, rallying twice to beat the Buccaneers 10-6 and capture the Region 3-A championship Wednesday.

Silverdale, which has had to travel the past two years for sectionals, will host Gordonsville on Friday while Boyd-Buchanan will travel to Goodpasture.

The Bucs didn't go quietly into the sunset, scoring a pair on the first of two Colby Morgan home runs in the top of the first inning.

After Silverdale tied it at 2 in the bottom of the inning, Boyd-Buchanan surged ahead again, 5-2, in the third on Morgan's second two-run homer and an RBI single from Brent Bagley.

And Silverdale rallied again in the bottom of the inning to snatch a 6-5 advantage.

"This is the scrappiest, hardest-working team I have ever played with," offered Seahawks shortstop Alex Gonzalez. "When people get up on us, we get extra competitive."

With his team up 8-6, Gonzalez provided some breathing room for reliever Cade Hannah with his sixth homer of the season, a two-run shot to right field.

"Cade didn't throw a whole lot early in the year. One of my favorite sayings is 'Work while you wait.' He did that. He got an opportunity a couple of weeks ago and showed the coaches something," Seahawks coach Gray Ange said. "If we get in trouble, he's our guy. Chase (Cook) didn't have his best stuff so we had to go to Cade earlier than I wanted. He came in and threw strikes and got outs."

Hannah pitched the final four innings and picked up the save.
