The Signal Mountain girls' tennis team breezed to a 5-0 victory over Cannon County in a TSSAA Class Small sectional match Friday.
The Lady Eagles from Region 3 move on to the Spring Fling team competition in Murfreesboro after giving up only 11 points in five singles matches against the Region 4 team.
Mary Elizabeth Wakim and Sarah Kate Bailey won 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 1 and 2, and Grace Williams was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at No. 3. Callie Mastin prevailed 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5, and Catherine Trombley won 6-1, 6-3.
