BayBears edge Lookouts with two-run fifth

MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile BayBears edged visiting Chattanooga 2-1 with a two-run fifth inning in Southern League baseball Tuesday night. The Lookouts lead the North Division with a 22-16 record for the second half of the season, but the BayBears beat them for the second time in three nights.

A.J. Pollock and Daryle Ward had RBI singles in the fifth for Mobile.

Alfredo Silverio led off the game with a double to left field and scored on Scott Van Slyke's two-out single to left to give the Lookouts (22-16) a 1-0 lead. Lookouts starting pitcher Chris Withrow was dominant until the fifth and wound up allowing five hits and two runs in five innings while striking out five.

Game four of a five-game series is tonight at 8:05 EDT. Allen Webster (3-1, 3.31 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Patrick Corbin (8-6, 3.98) scheduled for the BayBears.
