Lookouts hold off Biscuits for 3-2 victory

Staff Report

The Chattanooga Lookouts scored twice in the fourth inning, added a run in the fifth and held on for a 3-2 win over the Montgomery Biscuits on Saturday night at AT&T Field.

Lookouts starter Chris Whithrow allowed one run and one hit over six innings to pick up the win, and Shawn Tolleson got the save as Chattanooga maintained its lead over Tennessee in the Southern League's second-half North Divisino race.

After Montgomery took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth on a Henry Wrigley sacrifice fly, the Lookouts answered with a single by Brian Cavazos-Galvez to score Hector Gimenez. Scott Van Slyke scored the second run when Cavazos-Galvez was caught in a rundown as he tried to steal second.

Chattanooga added a run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Alex Castellanos that scored Matt Wallach.

The Biscuits scored a run in the ninth when Craig Albernaz scored on a single by Kyeong Kang, but Kang was out at second on a fielder's choice by Greg Sexton to end the game.

The Lookouts and Biscuits will play game four of a five-game series tonight at 6:15.
