PENSACOLA, Fla. - Chad Rogers, Drew Hayes and Justin Freeman combined on a four-hit shutout Wednesday as Pensacola won the series opener with a 5-0 victory over Chattanooga, which dropped to 26-20.
Billy Hamilton led off the bottom of the fourth inning with an infield single before stealing second and stealing third, and a throwing error by Lookouts catcher Griff Erickson enabled Hamilton to score. Hamilton now has 27 steals in 27 Double-A games.
Pensacola made it 2-0 in the fifth when David Vidal doubled to left and scored on Mark Fleury's sacrifice.
Game two of a five-game series in Pensacola is tonight at 8.
Aaron Miller (5-6, 4.38) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Tony Cingrani (5-3, 1.98) scheduled for the Blue Wahoos.
