KODAK, Tenn. - Rubi Silva's two-run double to center field in the seventh inning catapulted the Tennessee Smokies to a series-opening 4-1 win Tuesday night against Chattanooga, which dropped the Lookouts to 16-34 in the Southern League's second half.
Christian Villanueva doubled to left and scored on Rafael Lopez's two-out single to right to put the Smokies up 1-0 in the second inning, and Arismendy Alcantara's single to center in the seventh scored Nate Samson to make it 2-0.
Game two of the five-game series is tonight at 7:15. Chris Reed (3-9, 3.67 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Dae-En Rhee (3-1, 3.79) scheduled for the Smokies.
