Mississippi Braves beat Lookouts 2-0

PEARL, Miss. - Pitcher Ian Thomas and the Mississippi Braves stymied the Chattanooga Lookouts on Friday. The Braves won the Southern League baseball game 2-0.

Thomas allowed two hits in six scoreless innings to help the Braves clinch the series with two games remaining. Mississippi scored both runs in the first inning, getting RBI singles to right field by Jose Martinez and Christian Marrero.

The Lookouts dropped to 10-12 in the league's second half and to 45-47 overall.

Game four of the five-game series is tonight at 7 EDT. Garrett Gould (1-0, 3.38 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Gus Schlosser (6-2, 2.36) scheduled for the Braves.
