The Chattanooga Lookouts have become used to winning in the last two weeks, and even in their loss Saturday night they battled to the end. Jacksonville won 9-8 at AT&T Field despite allowing two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

It was a back-and-forth night, as the Lookouts went ahead 2-0 in the first inning and 3-0 before the Suns rallied to lead 8-4 midway through the eighth. Chattanooga, in second place in the Southern League's North Division at 26-27 for the second half of the season, scored two runs in each of its last two at-bats, but Jacksonville scored two of its own in between.

Angel Sanchez was 2-for-5 with a home run, another RBI and three runs scored for Chattanooga, which got two hits each also and a combined three runs and three RBIs from Daniel Mayora and Corey Seager. O'Koyea Dickson had a two-run homer for the home team, while leadoff man Austin Nola was 3-for-5 with an RBI, Brady Shoemaker was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Joe Benson tripled, doubled and drove in and scored two runs for the Suns.

Benson's triple and subsequent score accounted for the visitors' two runs in the ninth. In the bottom half, Sanchez reached base on a one-out error and Mayora and Seager hit two-out RBI singles.

Chattanooga will begin a five-game series at Birmingham tonight, with the first pitch set for 7 EDT. Andres Santiago (4-7, 4.51 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts.
