Birmingham Barons beat Chattanooga Lookouts 9-4

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Barons beat the Chattanooga Lookouts for the third game in a row Thursday night, 9-4.

Christian Marrero hit a two-run double to center field in the first inning and a two-run double to right in the fifth as Birmingham won its third straight game in the series. Jeremy Farrell chipped in with a two-run single to right in the third inning that blew the game open at 5-0.

The Lookouts dropped to 20-34 with 16 games remaining in the Southern League's first half.

The finale of the five-game series is tonight at 8:05 EDT. Garrett Gould (1-5, 7.68 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, while Mike Recchia (2-0, 1.50) is scheduled for the Barons.
