Mississippi Braves defeat Chattanooga Lookouts 4-1

A day after being named the inaugural Southern League pitcher of the week for 2015, Chattanooga starter Tyler Duffey allowed a run each in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings as the Lookouts lost 4-1 on the road against the Mississippi Braves.

It was the fourth loss in five games for Chattanooga, now 6-5.

Mississippi took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Daniel Castro's leadoff double to left field was followed by Rio Ruiz's RBI single to left. A Mallex Smith sacrifice fly to left in the fifth scored Chris O'Dowd to give the Braves a 2-0 lead.

Miguel Sano and Carlos Paulino accounted for Chattanooga's two hits.

Game three of the five-game series in Mississippi is today at noon EDT. Jose Berrios (1-0, 3.27 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Jake Brigham (0-1, 8.64) scheduled for the Braves.
