CLEVELAND -- A person familiar with the situation says troubled Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has failed another drug test.
The person, who spoke to The Associated Press on Sunday on condition of anonymity because of the confidentiality of the testing, says Gordon could be banned by the NFL for one year. Gordon has twice been suspended for substance-abuse violations.
ESPN, citing anonymous sources, first reported Gordon's failed test.
The Browns released a statement saying they were disappointed to learn of reports on Gordon. The team said it has not been notified by the league of a failed test. The Browns are "gathering more information and will provide further comment at the appropriate time."
Gordon was suspended 10 games last season. He appeared in just five and was suspended by the Browns for violating team rules before the finale.
