The Chattanooga Lookouts added a new wrinkle to their second-half struggles Saturday night in Jacksonville - being unable to score any runs.
The Lookouts - who won the Southern League's Northern Division first-half title but have lost four straight games and seven of eight to start the second half - were shut out for the first time this season as they lost 3-0 to the Suns.
Chattanooga, which in recent weeks has lost several of its best players to call-ups to higher levels of the game, was held to two hits.
The Suns led 2-0 after the first inning and added their final run in the fifth, the same inning Chattanooga's Heiker Meneses broke up Trevor Williams' no-hitter bid with a single to left field.
Meneses and Max Kepler each finished with a hit and a walk. Travis Harrison, who drew a walk, was the only other Lookout to reach base.
Williams (4-7) struck out six and walked two in six innings before yielding to Craig Stem, who worked two innings. Juancito Martinez earned his fourth save of the season with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Chattanooga's Brett Lee (0-2) allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out two.
The second contest of this five-game series is tonight at 6:05. D.J. Baxendale (3-1, 3.74) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Austin Brice (3-6,5.61) scheduled for the Suns.
In another move for the Lookouts, infielder Jorge Polanco has been promoted to Triple-A Rochester. Taking his spot on the roster is Aderlin Mejia, who is coming up from high Single-A Fort Myers.
