Suns wait out rain to down Lookouts 2-0

It was the rain and then the Suns reigning Monday night at AT&T Field.

The Jacksonville Suns followed a shutout loss Sunday afternoon in Chattanooga with a shutout win over the Lookouts, 2-0, after the fourth game in the five-game Southern League series started an hour late because of bad weather.

The series finale is scheduled for 7:15 tonight with Felix Jorge (0-2, 5.28 ERA) scheduled as Chattanooga's starting pitcher.

Monday, Jacksonville scored single runs in the fourth and seventh innings and held the Lookouts to six hits while totaling seven. No player on either team had two, and only Ryan Walker had an extra-base hit for the home team - a double leading off the bottom of the third inning.

Chattanooga starting pitcher David Hurlbut (7-7) allowed six hits and both runs, but only one earned, in his 6 2/3 innings. Alan Busenitz and Mason Melotakis pitched scoreless relief.

Brian Anderson's tow-out home run to left field gave Jacksonville its 1-0 lead, and three innings later Alex Glenn reached on an error leading off the seventh, went to second on Chris Curley's single and to third on a double play. He scored on James Roberts' double to right.

The Lookouts got a two-out walk by Edgar Corcino and a single by Leonardo Reginatto in the bottom of the seventh, but Walker's fly to center ended the inning.
