Brewers hit three home runs to back Garza, beat Braves 11-3

MILWAUKEE - Matt Garza won his third straight start and the Milwaukee Brewers backed him with three home runs Thursday in an 11-3 win over the Atlanta Braves.

Garza (4-4) allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings.

Chris Carter hit a two-run homer in the first inning. Scooter Gennett and Hernan Perez each hit solo homer to help Milwaukee build a 6-0 lead.

Making his second start of the season, Roberto Hernandez (1-1) gave up five runs and seven hits in four innings.

Erick Aybar homered and Nick Markakis had an RBI single in the Atlanta sixth. The Brewers broke open the game in the bottom half on a three-run double by Manny Pina.
