Lookouts come up short against Blue Wahoos

BLUE WAHOOS 10, LOOKOUTS 8

Friday's recap: Mitch Garver staked the Lookouts to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning when he plated Daniel Palka with his seventh home run of the season. But the Blue Wahoos cut into the deficit with Zach Vincej's two-out RBI triple in the second, then took control in a five-run fourth, when they again did all of their scoring with two outs, including a two-run homer by Joe Hudson. With Chattanooga trailing 10-3 entering the eighth, Goodrum's RBI single, Garver's two-run double and Travis Harrison's two-run homer threatened Pensacola's lead, but it also completed the scoring for the night. Goodrum and Daniel Palka drew back-to-back walks with two outs in the ninth, but Garver's groundout ended the game. Goodrum finished 3-for-4, the only Lookout besides Garver with more than one hit in the game.

Next up: Game four of a five-game series in Pensacola is tonight at 7:30 EDT.

Pitchers: Aaron Slegers (6-4, 3.38) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Sal Romano (1-8, 4.82) scheduled for the Blue Wahoos.
