The Chattanooga Lookouts already had their third series win of the season locked up entering Sunday's game against the Tennessee Smokies at AT&T Field.

They were unable to secure what would have been just their second three-game winning streak of the year.

After late clutch hits delivered one-run victories for the Lookouts on Friday and Saturday, they struggled to take advantage of offensive opportunities in the five-game set's finale, falling 5-1 in front of a home crowd of 5,356.

Four Smokies (23-27) pitchers scattered four hits - though they also surrendered six walks - and the Lookouts (22-28) went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Tennessee led 2-0 after solo home runs by Bijan Rademacher (to right field with two outs in the second) and Cael Brockmeyer (to left to lead off the fifth).

Chattanooga answered in its half of the fifth - Ryan Walker singled to right to score Joe Maloney, who had a one-out single and moved to second on Zach Granite's walk - but the Smokies added another run in the sixth when Mark Zagunis came home on Victor Caratini's sacrifice fly to center.

Zagunis' two-run single in the ninth completed the scoring.

The Lookouts are off today before beginning a five-game series at Birmingham on Tuesday. Tyler Danish (3-5, 4.08) is scheduled to start for the Barons, with Chattanooga's starter to be determined.

The Lookouts' next home game is June 5, with a 5:15 p.m. first pitch against Jacksonville.
